Why we are starting a club

We love this game and we love this town. We want kids' soccer here to feel like a neighborhood thing: players running around with their friends, and parents relaxed enough on the sideline to enjoy it.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of youth sports started to feel like a pressure cooker. Cuts, rankings, long drives and big bills, often before kids have had the chance to fall for the game. We think children deserve better than that while they are still learning.

So we are starting the club we wish existed. Local. Low cost. Run by parents and neighbors. Built around the players and nothing else.

Five beliefs behind every decision

  1. 01

    Development over results

We care about skills, confidence and friendships. A player who still loves the game at fourteen matters more than a trophy at ten.

  2. 02

    Rec stays rec

Recreational soccer is valuable on its own terms. It is not a feeder system, and its fees will not fund anything else.

  3. 03

    Every player plays

Everyone on the roster gets real time on the field. That is the point of rec soccer, not a bonus.

  4. 04

    Parents are partners

Families are volunteers and neighbors, not customers. The club is run by the people who show up for it.

  5. 05

    Honest, low costs

We will tell you where every dollar goes, and keep dues as low as we responsibly can.

Knowing what we are saying no to

Saying no to these is how we keep more time for playing, lower costs and a lot less stress.

  • No tryouts and no cuts
  • No pay-to-play upsells
  • No pressure to travel for games
  • No using rec dues to fund elite programs
  • No hidden fees

What we ask of families

Game day should be the best part of a player's week. A few simple standards help keep it that way.

  1. 01

    Cheer for effort

Encourage every player, on both teams. Good tries deserve applause as much as goals.

  2. 02

    Let coaches coach

Volunteers are doing their best. Save suggestions for after the game, and offer to help.

  3. 03

    Respect the referee

Rec referees are often young and still learning. Mistakes are part of the game.

  4. 04

    Same ride home

Win or lose, the drive home sounds the same. Ask whether they had fun.

Kids first. Rec stays rec. Everyone plays.
